This series just keeps getting better! "To Tempt a
Rebel" is my favorite book so far. Tristan Chevalier joined the French
revolutionaries to fight for brotherhood, equality, and liberty. He's
Robespierre’s second, but after several years of bloodshed, he's had enough.
Did they just trade one bad regime for another? It's Alexandra Martin's mission
to turn the patriot to the side of the Scarlet Pimpernel. It won't be easy, but
then, none of the missions have been easy. Can she convince Tristan to help
them or has she just signed her death warrant?
I love Alexandra! She's a petite woman who surprises Tristan
with her resourcefulness. He's difficult to convince of the rightness of their
cause and she nearly gives up on him, but the League needs him if they are to
rescue the young prince from prison. Tristan is no push over and I really liked
his moral dilemma. He wants to hate Alexandra, but he can't seem to stop
thinking about her and craving her kisses. The romance takes a back seat to the
suspense and action in the book. Was the young prince actually rescued or was
this just an interpretation? There were so many twists and turns that it's hard
to put the book down. If you like reading about the French Revolution, this
book will greatly entertain you!
I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and the views expressed are my honest opinions.
