Vacation Hiatus

I'm taking a short break from Two Ends of the Pen to recharge my batteries! No worries, there's plenty of posts in the sidebar to keep you busy while I'm away. There's "Popular Guest Posts," "Rebecca Writes," "World of Symbols," and "Author Panel Discussions" to keep you entertained.

If you're looking for a new book to read, there's plenty of book reviews in the sidebar as well.  Of course, there's also my own books to check out - fantasy and romance - a little something for everyone.

I'll be back before you know it! As always, happy reading!!!

Lincoln Memorial
Last week we took a few days for vacation and headed down to Washington, D.C. It's a fabulous city to visit. The monuments and museums are magnificent. Here's a few pics. They don't do the originals justice, but you can imagine how awesome they really are in person.

ON HIATUS...

Hi All,

I'm going to be taking a short break from blogging to recharge my batteries.  I will be back blogging again on or around, Wednesday, August 3, 2011.

In the meantime, there are plenty of guest posts, interviews, panel discussions and book reviews to read while I'm gone.

Here's a few funnies to pass the time:

Vacation

Today Dave and I are getting down to the business of writing. Combining a family and business trip sometimes is difficult to strike a balance. We would like nothing better to hunker down and write, write, write, but that's not possible when trying to spend time with family members.

We need to get the outline nailed down so that we have a good foundation for starting the story. So we have our goal that we'll try to accomplish over the next 2 days, but who knows. It's sunny CA after all and it's fairly warm out already. We may have to take a walk before we get to work.....

Happy 90th Birthday

This is the Martin family gathered here in Vero Beach for Mom's 90th birthday. We're at one of her favorite restaurants, Capt. Hiram's for lunch. Nancy and Bob flew in from Delaware so we could all be together. It's been fun, but I think poor Mom is exhausted. We've been taking her out everyday, sometimes twice a day. She says she hasn't eaten so much since the last time we were down here.

We're here til Tuesday and then we leave Mom again in the capable hands of Bonnie from Helping Hands.

Renaissance Festival

Had a great time at the MN Renaissance Festival with Josh and Julie. Here's Josh and I in pic#1. There was your resident lords, ladies, knights and a turtle. Turtle? Yes, a turtle.

Here's our knight and of course, he won. We know how to pick the right side to sit on!

It was good to visit, but it's great to be home.

Off to MN

I'm off to Rochester, MN today for a few days to visit my son and his wife. Haven't seen them in awhile so it will be great to catch up.

Let Down

Today is a bit of a let down from the whirlwind writing activity of the past 4 days with Dave. I'm glad I took a vacation day to unwind and do some stuff around the house. First up was walking on my treadmill and stretching. Didn't do much of that last week, but it's time to get back to it.

Tomorrow it's back to the day job. The University is still there - not much changes down there.
