#Review: WIND AND SHADOW by Tori Ridgewood

4 of 5 stars

What a nail biter! Ms. Ridgewood definitely has a flair for the dramatic and intense scenes. Rayvin Wood is a complicated character who has not had an easy life. She ran away when she was eighteen vowing never to return to her hometown of Talbot again, but circumstances have a way of making even the most fervent vow irrelevant. Rayvin is forced to return and again deal with all the prejudices from the town folk for an incident that has forever branded her a killer in their minds. It doesn't matter what the truth is, they won't listen. Throw in the man, Grant Michaels, who she had a serious crush on in high school and the heat just got turned up several notches. Their scenes are full of tension and sharp dialogue.

The author does a fabulous job of teasing out the details of Rayvin's past and introducing Grant's thoughts and emotions. I loved that Rayvin was such a strong character, but even she has her breaking point. With vampires and witchcraft battling one another, this book is a non-stop roller coaster ride of action. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the major cliffhanger at the end and it's why this book earned 4 stars instead of 5. If you're looking for more than just a paranormal sweet romance, then this book should definitely be on your list of "must reads."

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
