#Review: NOT ALWAYS A SAINT by Mary Jo Putney

4 of 5 stars

When Dr. Daniel Herbert inherits a title and an estate, he views it more as a burden than a boon. The responsibilities of running an estate and a seat in the House of Lords, will severely interfer with his medical practice. What he needs is a wife and the first time he sees the recently widowed Jessie Kelhan, he knows she's the one for him, but is she the gorgeous dream he envisions or will her deadly secrets be the ruin of them all.

I enjoyed this story and especially liked Daniel's character. His passion for helping those in need came across well throughout the story. Jessie is more complicated and there were some actions that I found stretched believability a bit, but overall, the story moved along nicely. There was a surprising twist at the end that brought the story full circle. This was the first story I've read by Ms. Putney and I definitely plan to check out her other books in the Lost Lords series. Fans of regency romances will thoroughly enjoy this story.
